Welcome to St. Joseph School

We have provided the Shenango Valley with students who are caring,

Faculty, staff, parent, and students have a strong sense of family. We work together with Jesus at the center of all that we do.

academically prepared, and physically ready to become productive, active members of our community for the last hundred plus years.  Our mission statement, philosophy, curriculum, and nuturing environment have been the strength and reason for our longevity. The Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools has accredited St. Joseph School since 1982.

The success of SJS can be attributed to many factors, one of them being the faculty. br> Our teachers are qualified, degreed, certified, and dedicated Catholic educators. They model their faith and give witness on a daily basis through their own prayer, actions, and services. They are available for students and parents before, during, and after school hours.

Another strong feature is the diocesan curriculum guide for all content areas taught. The curriculum guidelines are in Active Imagealignment with the state and national standards. For an in-depth look at each curricular area, go to the following website:
Diocese of Erie Website for Education-Curriculum and Standardized Tests.

The faculty is doing curriculum mapping, which is another avenue to ensure that the diocesan curriculum and objectives are being met. Each teacher looks at his/her daily plans and matches them to specific objectives. The areas that are duplicated or missed are brought to the attention of the instructor and adjustments are made.
