GIRLS – K-4 • Plaid uniform jumper

• White blouse with Peter Pan collar or golf shirt (long or short sleeve)

• Button-on uniform bow is permitted

• Black dress slacks may be worn.

• Red long sleeve V-neck pullover, sleeveless pullover, crew-neck pullover or cardigan sweaters may be worn. Sweaters may be monogrammed with "SJS" only.

• Red, white, or black above the ankle cuffed socks or knee socks. Red, white, or dark tights or opaque hose may be worn. Socks or tights must be solid colors only with no trim (i.e. lace, beads, etc). No other style of socks or tights may be worn.

• Dress/school shoes must be worn.  BOOTS MAY ONLY BE WORN BETWEEN THANKSGIVING AND EASTER.  ONLY DRESS SCHOOL SHOES MAY BE WORN, NO TYPE OF BOOT, MAY BE WORN AFER EASTER BREAK.
FLIP FLOP SANDALS ARE NOT PERMITTED AT ANY TIME!

GIRLS – 5-8

• Plaid uniform skirt (pleated or kilt). No skirt or dress worn to school may be shorter than four (4) inches above the middle of the knee.

• White blouse with Peter Pan or oxford collar or golf shirt (long or short sleeve)

• Red, white, or black above the ankle cuffed socks or knee socks. Red, white, or opaque tights or hose may be worn. Socks or tights must be solid colors only with no trim (i.e. lace, beads, etc). No other style of socks or tights may be worn.

• Dress/school shoes must be worn.

• Black dress slacks may be worn by 5th Grade girls.

• Khaki dress slacks for Grades 6 – 8 only.

• Red long sleeve V-neck pullover, sleeveless pullover, crew-neck pullover SJS, official fleece sweater or cardigan sweaters may be worn. Sweaters may be monogrammed with "SJS" only.

NOTE

• No denim, rivets or patch pockets.

• Knit shirts are not permitted with skirts,

•Mascara maybe worn lightly, lipgloss may be worn.

• Bangle bracelets, hoop or dangle earrings, or long necklaces are not permitted.

• Girls’ blouses must be tucked in at all times.


• Hairstyles may not be extreme or of unnatural color as determined by the principal.

BOYS K-8

• Boys K – 5: Black dress twill slacks with plain dress belt must be worn.

• Boys 6 – 8: Khaki twill slacks with plain dress belt must be worn. No denim, rivets, and/or patch pockets.

• Red or white knit shirts (long or short sleeves) (no logos)

• White oxford shirt (long or short sleeves)

• Shirts must be tucked in.

• Dress or school shoes. Modified tennis shoes are not permitted.

• Dress socks or plain white socks* (no logos). Socks must be uniform type sock or crew sock.

NOTE

• No denim, rivets or patch pockets.

• Suspenders, elastic legs, leg pockets or zippers, leather trim, snaps or brand labels are not permitted.

• Hair length must be above the eyebrows, half of both ears must show, and hair cannot touch shirt collar. Extreme bowl cuts, stripes, designs or tails are not permitted. No unnatural colors.

• Earrings are not allowed.

• The manner in which you dress says who you are. Be clean and neat

BOYS AND GIRLS K-8

• Uniform shorts are permitted before Thanksgiving and after Easter, weather permitting. They can be worn with red or white knit or oxford shirts for both boys and girls. Girls may also wear a white blouse.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION ATTIRE

• K - 8 Black shorts, red T-shirt, gym shoes (tennis shoes, no turf shoes), sweat socks.


• K - 3 May wear gym clothes to school on gym days.

STATEMENTS

• No student is permitted to wear any part of the school uniform for gym class.


• Students will not be permitted to participate in Physical Education without the proper attire.

• If at any time it is necessary for a student to refrain from gym classes, a written excuse will be required.

• If a student is excused from gym class for a reason of health, he/she will not be permitted to take part in any after school sports program on that day.

JEANS DAYS

($1 per student or $2 per family) are sponsored monthly by the PTO. The Principal may grant other dress down days.

VIOLATION

For a first offense a demerit slip will be issued. Second and subsequent offenses will be dealt with in accordance with the discipline code. The principal will have the final decision on any questions concerning the appropriateness of student dress.
